GAC filter: What is a GAC Filter System?
A GAC filter system is used to remove semivolatile and volatile organic compounds (SVOCs and VOCs), such as constituents of gasoline, heating oil, and chlorinated solvents, from polluted drinking water.
A GAC filter system used in single family homes and small businesses typically consists of one or two (2) canisters (primary and backup) installed in series, each containing a minimum of one (1) cubic foot of granular activated carbon. A prefilter is recommend before the carbon filter to take out all suspended solids and sediment.

How does a GAC Filter System Work?
As polluted water passes through the carbon canisters, the activated carbon removes the SVOCs and VOCs from the water intended for drinking and other domestic uses.

Maintenance and Replacement of the Prefilter: The prefilter is designed to remove sediment from the water before it enters the carbon canisters. The prefilter media becomes clogged with use, the home owner will need to change the prefilter in response to a reduction in water pressure. The frequency for changing the prefilter will vary depending on the amount of sediment trapped in the prefiltered water.

The Carbon block filter: Patriot carbon block filters employ a premium grade carbon with industry-leading surface area allowing for the greatest use of the carbon's adsorptive capacity. Higher surface area extends the life of the cartridge, lowering the need for frequent filter changes. The manufacturing process yields carbon block filters of exceptional consistency, which further maximizes the adsorption capacity and maintains consistent flow rates.

Ion exchange Resins:  Ion exchange is the reversible interchange of ions between a solid (the ion exchange resin) and a liquid. Since they act as "chemical sponges", ion exchange resins are ideally suited for effective removal of contaminants from water and other liquids. Ion exchange resins are also used in a variety of specialized applications such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, mining, and food and beverage processing.

The selection, application and supply of ion exchange resin is critical to the performance of our water treatment system. Our ion exchange resins are produced by the leading manufacturers to meet our stringent, performance based specifications. These standards are higher than those currently used by the manufacturers in testing their own products. This assures that resins are the highest quality product and also, most competitively priced. Ion exchange resins are used for the removal of copper, lead, arsenic and other harmful free floating chemicals.

Made in the USA, the Patriot filletering system can be modified to clean and purify any known contamination in our water worldwide today.  Using only the highest quality materials insures healthy and germ free water.

Here are just some of the contaminants we address:
         • pathogenic parasitic organisms
         • traces of human waste
         • all forms of coliform
         • E. coli, mercury and vinyl chloride
         • perchloroethylene, or PCE
         • Arsenic
         • cadmium, chromium and lead
         • Bugs, sand, dirt, and other organic materials

There are over a thousand different contaminants know to scientists and researchers around the world. Patriot filters help prevent sickness and ongoing health issues from contaminated water.
The largest single cavity injection molded unit, is made in the USA.   It has the ability to take everything out of the water down to .05 microns. Our canisters are built to withstand pressures up to 300 PSI.
